Re-posting because this is super important!!
Its almost summer and this is a serious topic ladies and gentlemen, Sunscreen. Scientific evidence supports the benefits of using sunscreen to minimize short-term and long-term damage to the skin from the sun’s rays. Here is a quick list of sunscreen you can buy

Anthelios XL Ultra-light SPF 50+

I use this one, I find it isn’t to oily or greasy. I find that I can easy add it to my beauty routine.  It’s extremely lightweight has fast absorbing formula. It doesn’t leave the white residue some sunscreens do and I can apply it under my makeup.

Shine like the whole universe is yours

The beginning is near!

So my last post was about my new acquisition of my plot of dirt. Well today I share with you the exciting news that my dirt will so be getting some new fancy accessories.

We started build on the 27th of March.

I’ve started a project that hopefully I can stick with which is taking a photo every week to document the progress and hopefully by the end of everything I can have an adorable time lapse. It’s been a long process, lots of emails back and forth and I can only imagine a whole lot more. However  I will blog about it all because that’s the most exciting thing I really have going on at the moment. So be prepared for house updates at every stage of the build.

Other interesting news in my life, we adopted a stray kitten. Which I thought was a girl and named her Miss Fluffy Winkle however she is a he and is now named Olympus. For everyone following me on Insta you would have seen that I’ve started sewing and have been tormenting this poor cat and making him wear snazzy outfits that I whip up with my fancy Singer; which I got for Christmas but only got around to playing with in March.

So this blog post has a lot about beginnings I have begun my love affair with sewing, I’ve made many pillow cases, I have clothes for my cat and I’ve even made a bag. I want to learn more sewing, I’m hoping to learn how to sew zips and buttons. Well how to get my fancy sewing machine to do the button thing. For the time being I’m happy just sewing straight lines and unmeasured pillow cases.
Something else that is new is that I’ve purchase a Bluetooth keyboard from eBay $12 delivered from surprisingly not China, it came from Germany however its made in China but it works amazingly. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. I was listening to my favourite podcast Cortex and CGP Grey and Mike were discussing there step ups and I figured it was time for a Bluetooth keyboard and seriously it is life changing. Because a laptop is too much effort but an iPad is at little awkward to type on and a Bluetooth wireless keyboard is 100% the way to go.

And finally my final update and new beginning is my little indoor garden. I purchased few different plants that will hopefully survive my abuse. I love plants they make me feel so a peace, to be honest I love the outdoors however the outdoors love me too much. Mainly the mossies, they are a killer. So to make my self more at home and more relaxed I have a small little green corner to make me happy. By the time your reading this however everything is probably dead.

I know this post is all over the place at it is just pretty much an update of my life however at this stage in my life that’s pretty much where we are at. It’s been a transition to be honest. A big one.

We are Building

Hello Hello.

So I thought now was a good time to start. Nathan and I are the proud owners of DIRT out in the sticks!

We aren’t halfway however we are at the point where things seem official. However let’s summarize from the beginning.

In March Nathan and I got married and in April we decided we were ” ready ” to own our own home. We live in mMelbourne and anything we wanted we couldn’t afford, well not without selling a kidney or two. So in April we decided to build, I looked up building companies and after a lot of time spent with unrealistic offers, we decided to build with Homebuyers Center. We spoke to Kade and he found us a block and a house to suit!

We are building the Eureka 22 with some alterations. So we deposited some of our life savings on the land and house and then we waited. Of course, there was paperwork and colors that we picked out in the interim but it was all a big waiting game. No fault to anyone we just had delays to our plot of dirt titling.

December! yes 8 months later our land titled, the bank settled, Nathan and I are in crippling debt but we are now in the next stage of the waiting game. Developer Approval.

Things that I have learned during this process is, it’s all very exciting, deflating and a long waiting game all at the same time. But seriously here are some real tips

  1. Start putting away your “mortgage” long before you even have one. Save now! Save often!
  2. Compare, compare, compare. Compare builders, compare designs, compare mortgage brokers, compare everyone you need to help with this process. You would be surprised how many building companies have very similar house designs for a fraction of the price.
  3. Pinterest keeps the fun. It’s a huge waiting game and Pinterest just keeps you excited.
  4. Make a non-negotiable list. Bathrooms, room area, everything…make the list!
  5. Never ever feel rushed, this is your future home, if you don’t like the plans don’t sign them.
  6. Know your block, which direction is it facing, how many windows face the south. Things like that. Try Lassi if your in Victoria
  7. Hire a third party building expected, they are worth the money.
  8. Use all available sites and help to understand the process more. Forums are great.
  9. Talk to people, sometime if you are referred to a company by a friend they have bonus they give.
  10. Save money!

So far that were we are at. I will update soon when more happens on my plot of dirt, until thanks for reading and much love.

Fake a Clean House

Sometimes you should have cleaned your place weeks ago but you still haven’t and now you’re living in your own filth. I know I have a habit of just throwing my clothes all over the floor and when I’m going out and rushing around my beauty products are everywhere. So here are some tips and tricks to fake it.

Things to focus on are bathrooms and lounge area.

Stuff of the floor?

Shove it in a basket, once your guests leave, you can empty that basket right back on the floor.

Stuff on tables/counters?

Books and magazines can be stacked they look cuter this way. Everything else put them in a basket or bag, you can empty that basket right back once they leave.

Dirty dishes?

If you have dishwasher LOAD IT. If not, neatly stack your dishes and stash it all in the refrigerator or oven.

Dirty bathroom?

Wipe down sink and mirrors, top and underside of the toilet seat, the flusher button, and the top of the tank. Clean your toilet by spraying it, let it sit, brush it then flush it. Finally put out fresh towels

Finally my favourite trick:

Light a candle

A candle does many things. It makes your house smell amazing and it mask all the dirty musky smells, and it gives your home a feeling that it always smells this nice.

Product recommendation:

Air wick life scents jar candle in winter moments

If all fails start vacuuming before they come and just apologise that the house is a mess and you were just cleaning it

Air wick electric wax melter

Recently I was invited to do an Airwick collaboration, here is my first The secret to living with dogs. From that invitation I received an air wick electric wax melter.

I really enjoy review this product, because well yes when you buy the wax melter the scents wax melts are not included, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT IS the AC adpter! The cable isn’t the sexist cable in the world but think about how many batteries you would go through!!

While I enjoy the safety and ease of this flameless device and the way it diffuses scent through a room better than a traditional candle, there is no flame. The best thing about this was I’m not longer a threat to burning down my house!

Basically it’s a little hot plate that gets warm enough to melt wax and a ceramic bowl that sits on top and it comes detachable power cable. The melted wax solidifies again pretty quickly when the power is turned off and to remove just turn it back on quickly and as the plate is warming up at come point you will be able to just flick off the wax effortlessly.

I received two scents with this product and lucky for me two packs of my favourite scent too. Turquoise oasis and winter moments, I know winter is over, but the winter moments scent is delicious.

My mum has really taken to the wax melter as she now has it on in the other room before guest come she isn’t afraid that the house will burn down because the something looked at the flame the wrong way.

I definitely recommend give this product a try, I think its great especially if you’re a forgetful person.

so this is Boston enjoying life’s pleasures

Going home

It’s been a long day, actually a long week. This week I feel like I got know where other than completing assignments. It was another week that I will just forget. This week will blur into all the other weeks. Like all the faces on the train. I catch the same train everyday almost and I know no one. Maybe it’s because I normally have my headphones in listening to a podcast and playing some game on my phone.
I don’t regret any decision in life but someday I feel like I could have done more like travel the world, work abroad or even study.
There is no point regretting something you can’t change, so I keep telling myself. Maybe on day I will. But for now it’s okay to just be.
