The first step to achieving a flawless, long wearing foundation base is Primer! There is a reason why its a crime not to prime. However slapping on some primer that you brought from the store isn’t enough. If it helps, think of your face as a canvas, the cleaner the canvas, the easier it is for the makeup to slide effortlessly onto your face and the less likely for it to become oily and transfer off!
The first step is exfoliation and it is a vital step as it allows for the shedding of dead skin cells; this provides an opportunity for the new layer of fresh, plump skin to be revealed. This allows for a fresh clean base for foundation to sit on.
The next step is to prime the skin. Primers are essential for creating an even application of foundation as well as aiding in longevity. Primers are often reactive to heat and therefore application with your fingertips works best, gently massaging the product into your skin. Whilst primer is an essential part of creating a flawless face, one primer does not fit all, which is why it is important that primer is chosen based on the your skin type. If you’re in doubt ask for a sample, many makeup stores like Mecca and Sephora will give you a sample to try.
After this step you are ready to paint your canvas!
Tips on choosing the right primer.
If your skin tends to be more on the oily side should look for matte or oil free primers.
NORMAL TO OILY SKIN
If your skin that is generally “normal” but may experience slight oiliness through the Nose or forehead you are fairly lucky and you are able to try pretty much any product however something oil free will help with your oily T-zone.
If your skin extremely dry, you need to apply a product that will protect and hydrate the skin. For dry skin it’s best if you try and sample different primer as you need to work out what works best for you.
People will stare, may it worth their while
I’m sure that most of you are no stranger to Mecca or Sephora, but recently I discover a little beauty! Shop Miss A. Everything is $1usd.
That’s right you read it right $1usd with shipping free if you spend over $30, US only. Shipping to isn’t free but at $10 its not bad. I was really excited about this site because it has plenty of Elf products that aren’t stocked here. The only issue is international shipping takes a long.
I’ve ordered my products and now we wait.
So the site is: http://www.shopmissa.com/

For many the Meteorites range is the holy grail and this recent release is already sparking interest in the beauty community.
Price: $80 US – Limited Edition
What the packaging says:
What it is:
A pearly-white Christmas bauble filled with the iconic Météorites illuminating powder pearls to enhance the face and décolleté with a radiant glow.
What it does:
These Météorites pearls are made of light-reflecting iridescent pearly particles that leave the skin looking radiant with an illuminating glow. It features pearls in beige hues to even out the skintone, champagne to illuminate, and golden for a subtle, sunkissed effect. These pearls are infused with light-correcting nacres that harmoniously blend together to create a pure and correcting light for perfectly tailored luminosity, creating an ultrasoft powder that smooths the complexion for a unique, soft finish. These powder pearls reveal the iconic violet fragrance of Météorites.
It’s super expensive, as gorgeous as it is the price tag is something to really think about when the Guerlain Teint Beige is so similar and only $58 US or MAC Snowglobe isn’t a bad dupe either at $26 US. It’s packaged in a snowglobe-like container that has a flattened bottom to prevent it from rolling about and the top of the lid has a lightly frosted, which is super cute. Its more of a finishing powder than a highlighter to be honest but it last the whole day. Some people can’t live without it and some people don’t understand the hype. I’m in the middle, I like it but the price range makes me want to cry.
Bathed in black, fuelled by the darkest desires, rich colours in their deepest versions simmer against a mysterious backdrop with M∙A∙C Dark Desires. As night falls, sinfully delicious lips, sultry stares, and noir-hued nails emerge from the evening’s depths. It never felt so good to be bad.
Available Online 24th of Nov and instore December 3rd.
I can’t wait for this new range to be released, I’m hopping they launch it in Australia roughly around the same time beause the colours are amazing!

Here are some real easy makeup tips to add your routine, or to help you cut down your routine in summer.
In the summer months I only use a few products because wearing too much makeup in summer is just a bad idea. I also like to limit the amount of products so I’m not spending all day painting my face.
Start with SPF protection. Its summer, its sunny! I normally buy a BB or foundation with coverage however in summer I use a dedicated SPF cream because it’s much more sunnier and I find that I sit in the sun more often. I’m using SunSense Daily Face SPF 50+
Using a BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer is a quick & easy way to even out your skintone and its not to heavy. I’m currently using Garnier Miracle Skin Cream Day cream
Mineral powder over the top of your tinted moisturizer or BB cream will smooth out imperfections & cut back redness, giving your skin a beautiful satiny finish and set your “makeup”. I’m using Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Cover
Blusher is an instant face brightener, it warms the face. I’m using MAC pro longwear blush in Blush all day
In summer a long wearing eyeliner is always a good idea, I use the Maybelline eyestudio master precise ink pen eyeliner. It has a really thin tip that I use to build up my look depending on how I feel that day
When applying mascara take care to layer it on to the lashes while they are still wet to avoid ‘clumping’. I’m currently using Maybelline Lash Sensational Black Pearl Waterproof. I like using waterproof in summer because you never know when I might drop by the beach or end up just sweating up a storm.
Light to medium lipsticks are the most flattering, as bright colours exaggerate imperfections like yellow teeth & lines round the mouth. But Red lipstick stick can add that touch of glamour to your look. Remember to use a lip liner to prevent bleeding. I’m currently using Rimmel Dare to go bare! New Nude collection from Kate Moss in 42
